Ratatouille....

Provencal ratatouille. With or without garlic is always the big question in southern France.

With if you ask me....but here's a nice tip: serve it cold.

Porcini ravioli with truffle & pumpkin

A lunch dish I made and served recently. Cold pumpkin cream with porcini ravioli. Add some virgin olive oil and fresh truffle!

Dar Attajmil....a must visit!

The next time you visit Marrakech stay at the most idyllic Dar Attajmil....right in the heart of the Medina (Jemma el Fna is just a 3 minute walk) it serves you a true Moroccan experience.

We had a great time hanging out in one of the many relaxing areas, the hammam or the roof top terrace overlooking the Atlas mountains.

The warm and true hospitable staff will serve you great F&B....for example an everyday changing breakfast and excellent Moroccan food.

Additional upsides: just 5 rooms, no tv's, no signatures and no roomkeys.

A home away from home.

Amazing El Fenn!

Riad El Fenn in bustling Marrakech is a home away from home while exploring this great city! Centrally located and just a two-minute walk from El Fna and the medina El Fenn is a haven of tranquility and an excellent mix of bohemian chic and traditional Moroccan vibes.

I particularly enjoyed the massive hang out rooftop terrace overlooking the city with panoramic views of the Atlas mountains. Also the 3 swimming pools, many hangout places with fireplaces and restaurant are a must try after a hard day of exploring.

Additional upsides: no tv's, no room keys and no signatures.

Spritztime at lake Como

Next time you visit lake Como, have a short stop at hotel Taverna Bleu at the left bank. This small villa houses about 15 rooms with lake views and a great garden and terrace to enjoy your afternoon Aperol spritz or two.

The restaurant serves local food such as mountain cheeses and grilled fish from the lake.

Also the - very - small village of Sala Comacina is a two minute walk and serves the best outdoor lunch while sitting under a tree at the lakeside. There is nothing else to do anyway which is great (bring your book!).

Hidden Gem in Provence...

A great place to wine and dine is Hostellerie L'Abbaye de la Celle in Provence. Situated in the small village of La Celle, the former monastery now houses 10 suites and a superb restaurant.

Try their veggie starters fresh from their own garden or the grilled provencal fish.
In summertime dinner is served on the beautiful terrace as you can see below.

A must see...and eat! http://www.abbaye-celle.com/
